Privacy Policy
How we handle your information. The short version: we only ask for your email if you want the free resources, and we never sell it.
Last updated: October 26, 2026
Passclex is a free, independent study resource for nursing students. This policy explains, in plain language, what we collect and how we use it.
1. What we collect
- Your email address and signup details — only if you choose to sign up for the free guide and occasional nursing study emails. Your subscription starts when you submit the form. We also record the signup date, originating page, and version of the consent notice shown with the form. The study guides, quizzes, and cheatsheets all work without an account.
- Your email address for cheatsheet and worksheet downloads — if you download a free cheatsheet or worksheet, we ask for your email once. It is stored by Formspree, our form provider, together with the file name and the page you were on. We do not send emails to that address, and it is not added to the newsletter. Your browser remembers that you entered it, so later downloads skip the form.
- Basic usage analytics — pages visited, general location, and device/browser type, through privacy-focused analytics tools, Google Analytics, and Microsoft Clarity, so we can see which content is useful and how the site is performing. Clarity can also replay how a page was used (scrolling, clicks, taps). Anything you type is masked.
- How the paid QBank is used — if you use the NCLEX-PN QBank at app.passclex.com, we use Microsoft Clarity there too, to see which screens are confusing. Anything you type, plus your name and email, is masked before it leaves your browser. A recording is tied to an internal account number, not to your name or email. If you use the Notebook there, your notes are stored with your account and are private to it. If you use the AI Tutor chat there, your question and the last few messages of that chat are sent to Anthropic, our AI provider, to write the answer; Anthropic does not use them to train its models, and the QBank keeps each question and answer for 180 days so the answers can be checked for accuracy. Details are in the QBank privacy policy.
- Advertising & measurement — we use the Meta Pixel (from Meta, the company behind Facebook and Instagram) on our pages. It records which pages you visit and certain actions so we can measure whether our ads are working and reach more nursing students who would find these free resources helpful. This involves sharing some of your browsing activity on our site with Meta.
- Feedback you send — if you report an error or send feedback, we receive what you type along with the page address.
2. How we use it
- To send newsletter subscribers the free guide they asked for and the occasional update about new content.
- To understand which material helps students so we can improve it.
- To respond to your feedback and fix errors.
3. Who we share it with
We do not sell, rent, or trade your email or personal information — ever. We use a small number of trusted service providers to run the site and understand how it is used, including MailerLite (to deliver emails), Formspree (to handle form submissions), our analytics tools, Google (through Google Analytics, to understand how the site is used), Microsoft (through Microsoft Clarity, to understand how pages are used), and Meta (through the Meta Pixel, for advertising measurement). They process this data under their own privacy terms.
4. Your choices
- Every email we send includes a one-click unsubscribe link.
- You can ask us to access or delete your information at any time by emailing contact@passclex.com.
5. Cookies, analytics & advertising
We and these providers may use cookies or similar technology to measure traffic and run advertising. Specifically:
- Analytics — we use privacy-focused analytics tools to understand which pages and resources are most helpful to students.
- Google Analytics — a measurement tool from Google that shows us which pages and free resources students actually use, so we know what to build more of. It sets cookies and may collect your general location, device type, and the pages you visit. You can opt out across every site using Google's browser add-on.
- Microsoft Clarity — a usage tool from Microsoft that shows us where students scroll, click, and get stuck, so we can fix confusing pages. It sets cookies to recognize a return visit. Anything you type is masked. Tracker-blocking extensions and your browser's cookie settings stop it.
- Meta Pixel — an advertising and measurement tool from Meta (Facebook and Instagram). It helps us see whether our ads are working and show our free resources to people who may be looking for them. Through it, Meta may receive information about your visit and may connect it to your Meta account if you have one.
You're in control. You can block cookies in your browser settings (the site still works), manage how Meta uses your data in your Facebook ad preferences, and use industry opt-out tools such as the Digital Advertising Alliance opt-out page. Most browsers' privacy settings and tracker-blocking extensions also limit this.
6. Children's privacy
Passclex is intended for nursing students and other adults. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
7. Data security & retention
We keep your email only as long as you stay subscribed or as needed to provide the service, and we take reasonable measures to protect it. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Links to other sites
Passclex may link to third-party websites. We are not responsible for their content or their privacy practices.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "last updated" date above, and significant changes will be noted on this page.
